Update

I think I wrote about this last time, but J's SA came back, he has a count of 15 mil where they want 20-150 mil. And his motility went from 5% to 40% this increase was awesome and I am very happy for it. J quit smoking and has been taking his vitamins so I really think that has helped. We are going to be scheduling an appointment with the specialist soon now that I have found one. So things are looking up.
I also started a book recently called Every Drunken Cheerleader Why not me? It is pretty good so far but I don't think it's what I was looking for in an Infertility book. I also have one on financing fertility treatments. I'm looking forward to that one, maybe it can help us not go broke through this whole process.

J got a repeat SA

So like in the title J got a prepeat SA his motility did come back better, but the count went down....way down. J started with a count of around 56 million and motility at 5%. well his new numbers came back of motility 45% and a count of 15 million it dropped by over half. So I am still under the care of my OBGYN and I asked him truthfully what is next and he told me IVF. I kind of knew that, but it kind of sucks that we can't do this on our own.

I have found a RE and we will be talking to her soon, there will be a lot more testing and as far as we know we won't be starting IVF until April when J's insurence kicks in. He has insurence out of a mandated state, this means they have to carry IF insurence and they will cover our procedure, but all the test we need to do to get to that point will be out of pocket.

Welcome to the life of a couple going through infertility, it sucks, I wouldn't wish this on my worse enemy..

Been Awhile

I haven't updated in a month I am so disappointed in myself! Well I have been pretty busy, School is almost done for this semester and I have decided to do my next semester online so I will have the time to do that and all the testing that is coming up for J and me. J is having repeat SA on friday so I am anxious to see if his numbers changed since his last. He started vitamins and quit smoking so hopefully that has helped his numbers a little. I have been looking up different treatments to get pregnant and have found that with J's numbers before we didn't qualify for IUI and would have to move straight to IVF, if that is the case we won't be able to do our first treatment till April, which marks 2 years of TTC... that I find is a hard pill to swallow.

On the other hand there are some good things that came out of not being pregnant yet. J and I are able to save more money, I have limited insurence so most if not all of my pregnancy appontments would have been out of pocket I also didn't qualify for maternaty leave until recently because I hadn't been at my job long enough. Also J will have great insurence from him job in April and one of the best things he has IF insurence because Mass is one of the few states that mandates coverage.

So that is all for now, I will update with J's results and what our next step will be soon!
